When talking with business owners I ask them to tell me about their business. I normally hear about how they got started and how great or challenged their business is? Then I ask about their numbers. I typically get 3 numbers… Revenues, number of Customers and Profits.
These 3 numbers do not tell the true story. The story comes from the numbers in between, especially their lead flow, conversion rate, Average Dollar sale, # of transactions and profit margins. When we look at those five numbers we can immediately identify the story about the business.
